Answer : Yes there is. It's relatively hidden, records fullscreen only (not part, window etc) and seems meant for recording gaming, but it records video and audio and you can in effect use it to record your screen for anything into a MP4 file.

press the Windows icon button next to 'control'. And press 'G' at the same time.
What happens ?
A bar will come up asking 'IS THIS A GAME ?'
TICK YES.
The control button bar will show.
press the RED BUTTON to record.
Where is the file saved ?
In the default Windows 10 VIDEO folder titled (CAPTURES)
This PC > VIDEO > CAPTURES
File format : MP4
Functionality.
There are some settings you can change (audio on/off etc) but not much. You can also change the shortcuts etc.
